YP 140th Anniversary

Thanks to the YP team, under the leading of Susan, for the excellent time of worship and fellowship last week to celebrate 140 years of ministry to young people at Regent Hall. To bring old friends together is not always easy or simple, but to see so many sharing and enjoying their time with us was a great sight to see. Well Done Susan the YP team.

Brass Arts Festival 2024

As we now look back on another successful Brass Arts Festival, we have had the privilege of great music, and to have had a few thousand people attend our place to hear that music, and our invitation to worship. The Brass Arts takes a lot of organising and we want to offer to Stephen Maw and the regular team of weekly concerts our grateful thanks for the work involved, and the people that have come across our threshold in these past weeks.

We hope that the experience of being at Regent Hall, the welcome and the invitation will provide some with an extra impetus to visit us for worship, as some have done and are doing.

We offer Stephen and the team our thanks for their working.

Community Wardrobe

We have been blessed by the guidance of God with the developing work of the Community Wardrobe. This came to a point in may where we were awarded with a grant from Westminster Council for us to develop our work for the vulnerable and refugees of the area through the wardrobe.

This grant was given to help us gain a Community Co-ordinator who would spend two years in a part-time role looking to develop and expand the services of the Wardrobe. We commenced the recruitment processes, and we are glad to announce that one of the founding volunteers, Sonya Knight has been offered and accepted this role in the Wardrobe. She will take on responsibility in the next weeks. We are grateful that once again, God has opened another door for us and we can, as people of faith, provide a meaningful and hopeful service for the most vulnerable of those who surround us at Regent Hall.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. We have a time of worship with congregational singing and items from our musical sections. We have periods of reflection, when we pray and read the Bible, and our Bible message is brought to us by one of our officer team.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What happens to the kids at church?

We have a great programme for the kids at Regent Hall for:

Explorers (4-7 years)
Kids Zone (8-10 years)

We also have an active youth group, including Pulse - a Sunday session learning about faith, as well as regularly getting together for worship and just meeting up socially and for sports.

For more information about what happens in the children's and youth work please visit the relevant age groups for you under church life.

Is there a dress code?

Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes. Our corps officers (Church leaders) and Salvationists do wear Salvation Army uniform to be visible in our ministry and witness.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
